Length: 1, 523 words
Summary: John thought he was being courteous by doing it in the bathtub.
Notes: This fic takes place well before the movie and gives a little backstory to the Constantine/Balthazar goodness in the movie. John is a younger version of the "Constantine" from the movie, and so he is a little less cynical.

Title: Ignis Fatuus
Author: Guede Mazaka
Rating: NC-17. Some bondage.
Pairing: John/Balthazar.
Feedback: Good lines, typos, etc.
Disclaimer: These characters were not originally created by me.
Notes: Title is Latin for ‘foolish fire’ or ‘will o’ the wisp.’ The extra bit with Chas at the end of the movie implies that mortals can become angels (and presumably demons) after death; the movie also never states what Balthazar’s actual age is. Balthazar Gracián y Morales was a real person, but I’m just borrowing his last name and mean to cast no aspersions of any kind on the historical figure whatsoever.
Summary: Satirical blah blah, not really a plot. John sneezes the wrong way.

I am so in love with this fic, it’s not even funny. shalott reveals world that is both utterly dissimilar from the one of the movie, and at the same time very familiar. The Commodus here is intriguing, and completely different both from the movie’s Commodus and from shalott’s Commodus in Campaign. Think, Commodus as an Oracle, or something like that. The sequel is Waking from a Dream, and has some some wonderful images towards the end.

Boromir/Faramir, Denethor (ADULT)
http://www.henneth-annun.net/stories/cha
Long.
This is one of the most realistic portrayals of homosexuality that I?ve encountered while reading fanfiction. It paints a very complicated picture of the love between the two brothers, Boromir?s desire and Faramir?s repulsion. The setting of the story is very political, and Dwimordene is obviously very knowledgeable in the lands and history of Middle Earth, which she exploits in this story to set the tense atmosphere. Set shortly before Boromir sets out for Rivendell, Faramir discovers his brother?s secret. This fic has a remarkable ending, and it doesn?t deserve the ADULT rating; I think that Dwimordene only gave the fic that rating because it is slash. I think that it deserves a PG.

Before you turn away because the pairing squicks you, let me tell you that it squicks me too, which is kind of the point. You're supposed to be squicked. No Windows is one of the best stories written for the One Ring challenge, in which alternate timelines are developed with the premise that the ring wasn't destroyed. In No Windows Gandalf accepted the ring from Frodo, and things develop from there, horribly as I'm sure you can imagine.

Short.
Anything about Bacchus is going to catch my attention. As the god of wine, religious ecstacy and rebellion, who wouldn’t be attracted to the idea of him? The reality, as Herakles discovers, is a little more terrifying. Herakles understood that he was taking the god into himself once more.”
