Summary: Norrington's just a bit mad, the men say. Left the navy to chase pirates full-time, and the navy didn't much like that. Success at the hunter's trade is all well and good, but there is one pirate who has always managed to elude the former commodore. And they say that this pirate is a bit mad as well.
Midlength
An intriguing AU with a Norrington who manages to be real despite being very different from the one of the movie. The way Norrington and Jack dance around each other and eventually change each other is so well written that it would be obvious that it was written by a master even if gileonnen's name hadn't been attatched to it. This is one of her longer works, and is supposed to have a sequel, though it can be read as a stand-alone. Sadly, the sequel appears to have been abandoned.

Why this must be read: A futurefic, this story could easily be an epilogue to any of the three movies (I mean, provided that this threesome all survive At World’s End). Once a year, “the Widow,” about whom many scandalous legends swirl, sets aside a day to mourn her late husband, William Turner. She is gradually joined in vigil by “the Admiral” and “the Pirate”. There is a sense of camaraderie amongst the three of them, even though few words are exchanged. The past itself almost becomes a fourth party in this polyfic, written for the </a></font></b></a>3_ships challenge, as old wounds are not so much forgotten as forgiven.
